Official guide For Amazon sellers using Keepa.

GateKeep User Guide

GateKeep adds eligibility decisions directly inside Keepa so you can scan faster, avoid dead-end ASINs, and focus on products you can actually sell.

Green Ungated, you can sell this ASIN.
Yellow Gated, you need to apply to sell this ASIN
Red Restricted, skip it and keep your session moving.

Getting Started

Do these first so GateKeep can read Keepa and Seller Central correctly.

Step 1
Install GateKeep

Install GateKeep from the Chrome Web Store, then pin it in Chrome so the settings are easy to find.

Step 2
Log in to Seller Central

Use the same Chrome profile for Keepa and Seller Central. Keep Seller Central logged in while you source.

Step 3
Make sure Amazon URL, Category, and Brand are visible in Keepa

GateKeep reads the Amazon URL column for dots. Category and Brand give your history better context. If dots are missing or your history looks thin:

  • Enable the Amazon URL column in Keepa
  • Enable Category and Brand too
  • Scroll right if you do not see the columns
  • Drag Amazon URL toward the left so it stays in view

How to set up Keepa to work with GateKeep

Sign In & Link Your License

If you bought Pro, link it in the same Chrome browser where GateKeep is installed.

Step 1
Open GateKeep Options

Click the GateKeep extension in Chrome and open Options or Settings.

Step 2
Send the magic link

Under Sign in (magic link), enter the email you used at checkout and click Send sign-in link.

Step 3
Open the sign-in link in that same browser

Open the email link in the same Chrome browser. Do not open it in a mail app, Safari, or another Chrome profile.

Step 4
Link your license key once

After you sign in, paste your key into Link license key (one-time) and click Link license. If you cannot find the key, use Email me my license key.

Important: Signing in is not enough by itself. Pro unlocks after the license key is linked to that account.

Your First 5-Minute Sourcing Run

Use this flow when you want to test a list quickly without overthinking every ASIN.

01
Open Keepa Product Finder or Deals

Run the same Keepa search you normally use for sourcing.

02
Turn Auto-check on

Turn on Auto-check so GateKeep checks products as you move through the list.

03
Work the dots

Start with green. Only chase yellow if the profit is worth it. Skip red.

04
Filter the list if you have Pro

Hide restricted products so you can focus on ASINs that are actually worth checking.

Goal: Find a few sellable ASINs fast. Do not spend the whole session trying to rescue bad leads.

Using GateKeep in Keepa

GateKeep is there to help you move through Keepa lists with fewer dead-end clicks.

Dots

Read the dot and decide

Green means keep checking the ASIN. Yellow means approval may be needed. Red means move on.

Auto-check

Let Auto-check do the repeat work

Leave Auto-check on while sourcing. Click a dot manually when you want to re-check one ASIN.

Summary

Know when to move on

If most of the list is red, try another search instead of forcing bad leads.

Pencil icon

Only apply when it is worth it

Do not chase every yellow dot. Apply when the ASIN or brand has enough upside to justify the time.

Generic warning

Skip generic listings

If GateKeep flags a generic brand listing, move on. It is not worth risking your seller account.

Bulk Mode

Use Bulk Mode when you have a list of ASINs and do not want to check them one at a time.

01
Open Settings → Bulk Mode

Open GateKeep Settings and go to Bulk Mode. This is a Pro feature.

02
Choose your marketplace

Pick the Amazon marketplace you are checking against.

03
Paste or upload ASINs

Paste ASINs directly, or upload a CSV or TXT file from your lead list.

04
Run the check and review results

Run the check, review the results, then export or group by brand if you want to keep working the list.

Auto Ungating

Use it before you start the run

Check Auto-check ungating if you want GateKeep to try approvals during the bulk run. Keep Seller Central logged in while it runs.

Alternate Method

Use it when the normal method is not working

Alternate method uses the fallback ungating flow. It is slower and does not pull the required invoice unit numbers.

Traditional Method

Use it for the faster approval flow

Traditional (with min invoice qty) opens approval tabs and moves faster. If Amazon does not approve the ASIN, GateKeep also pulls the required invoice unit numbers.

Traditional Tabs

Choose how many tabs it opens

Traditional tabs controls how many approval tabs open at once. More tabs can be faster, but they use more computer resources.

Brand Hunter

Find brands worth checking again

Brand Hunter groups bulk results by brand and shows sellable, need approval, restricted, sellable %, and total checked.

Brand Hunter Settings

Control how strict the list is

Min sellable is the number of ungated ASINs a brand must have. Min sellable % is the ungated percentage required. Raise them for stricter results, or lower them to see more brands.

Brand Hunter Buttons

Filter, reset, or export

Show opportunities applies your filters. Show all brands resets the view. Export Brand Summary CSV downloads the brand summary.

Brand Hunter Rows

Open one brand at a time

Use View ASINs to filter the bulk results down to one brand and review those ASINs by themselves.

How To Use It

Open the brand in Keepa

If a brand looks promising, click the brand name to open it in Keepa. If it is mostly restricted, skip it.

History and Reporting

History helps you avoid checking the same bad leads over and over.

History

Track what you checked

Review ASINs you already checked, including the result and any notes you saved.

Notes

Keep notes short and useful

Examples: “Applied 4/2”, “Approved used only”, “Skip, IP risk”, “Good replens brand”.

Export

Export when you need the data outside GateKeep

Use CSV exports for buy lists, VA work, or tracking brand and category patterns.

Free vs Pro

Free is enough to test GateKeep. Pro is for daily sourcing and bigger lists.

Practical rule: Use Free to test GateKeep in a real sourcing session. Use Pro when you want unlimited checks, Bulk Mode, filters, export, and auto ungating.

Troubleshooting

Most issues come from the Keepa layout, Seller Central login state, or missing columns.

I do not see dots in Keepa

Refresh Keepa, make sure GateKeep is enabled, and confirm the Amazon URL column is visible.

Everything looks locked or results will not load

Open Seller Central in the same Chrome profile, log in fully, then go back to Keepa and re-check an ASIN.

Auto-check is not running

Turn Auto-check on and scroll slowly for a moment. If you are on Free, check whether you hit the daily limit.

Export is missing Brand or Category

Turn on Brand and Category in Keepa, re-scan the list, then export again.

FAQ

Quick answers to the most common questions.

How do I activate my Pro license?
Open GateKeep Options in the same Chrome browser where the extension is installed, sign in with the email used for your license, then paste your key into Link license key and click Link license.
Does GateKeep replace Keepa filters?
No. GateKeep works alongside your normal Keepa filters by adding eligibility signals and extra controls.
What should I do with yellow ASINs?
Be strict. If the margin is mediocre, skip. If the margin is strong and the brand repeats, that can be worth pursuing.
Is GateKeep safe with my Amazon account?
GateKeep runs in your browser using your Seller Central session. You do not provide your Seller Central credentials directly to the tool.
When should I upgrade to Pro?
Upgrade when you want unlimited checks, filters, Bulk Mode, export, history insights, and auto ungating tools.
